Porcelain Veneers from The Dentist at Burwood

Porcelain Veneers are quite simply the best way to instantly solve a wide range of cosmetic dental problems such as overcrowded and overlapping teeth, chipped and damaged teeth and gaps between teeth.

Veneers can also be used as an instant alternative to tooth whitening, especially when the nature of the discoloured teeth means that gel whitening cannot be effectively used.

Porcelain veneers are thin, tooth shaped ‘caps’ that are bonded to the existing tooth underneath it. Once applied, porcelain veneers look completely natural and are a permanent solution for even the most damaged smile.

When are Porcelain Veneers the right solution?

As long as the tooth that the veneer will be applied to is healthy and there is no active gum disease, porcelain veneers can be applied as a solution for a wide range of cosmetic dental problems.

Most commonly, veneers are used as a solution for these common problems:

Of course, another advantage of veneers is that they can be used to solve several problems at once. Many of our patients come and see us to fix a nagging problem of crowded teeth and walk out delighted with perfectly straight and spaced teeth and a Hollywood smile!

How are Porcelain Veneers applied?

Preparing and fitting veneers is a relatively simple procedure that usually causes minimum patient discomfort and can often be achieved in only a few visits. In your initial consultation your dentist will explain to you all of your options and the process step-by-step, ensuring that you completely understand the entire procedure.

The initial consultation will include impressions being made of your teeth (study modes), as well as designing your perfect smile. At the Dentist at Burwood, we will often, mill and fit our porcelain crowns on site, giving us complete control over your smile solution. And because everything happens from within our surgery, we can often design your crowns in the morning and fit them in the afternoon – giving you immediate results.

At the first visit the teeth are usually shaped with a thin layer shaved off the front of the teeth. An impression is taken and sent to he dental lab for the veneers to be made. After a few weeks the veneers are fitted and then bonded permanently to the teeth. porcelain veneers can also be made on the premises using CAD/CAM or computer aided design and then milling giving us more control over shape and form of the teeth and the final aesthetics. these CEREC veneers are carved out of solid quality porcelain blocks such as IPS empress CAD.

Once completed, you will walk out of our clinic with the smile of your dreams!
